Volunteers of all levels and backgrounds can help us care for the land at several parks, natural areas and community gathering spaces throughout the Tualatin River Watershed!
We provide refreshments and tools, as well as detailed instructions and guidance on how to accomplish our projects. Activities can include removing weeds such as holly, ivy, or blackberry, planting trees and other native plants to support wildlife habitat and community health, trail maintenance to improve access to nature, and more!
Tualatin Riverkeepers Restoration Crew Leaders help lead events, setting the foundation for safe and welcoming volunteer experiences. Throughout the year, TRK hosts hundreds of volunteers and fosters meaningful connections between community members and the Tualatin River Watershed.
As a crew leader, you will support Tualatin Riverkeepers at restoration events by setting up supplies, leading and supporting volunteers, sharing stewardship knowledge, and packing up at the end of the day. This role is for anyone who enjoys working with plants and people, and is passionate about caring for the land. No prior experience or environmental background is necessary, just an interest in learning about stewardship and how we can care for the Tualatin River and the many communities it supports.
Requirements- Attend both the virtual training Oct 8th and In-person training Oct 10th. Sign up to shadow trained Volunteer Restoration Crew Leaders at two events this fall and winter.
Virtual Training - Thursday, October 8th, 6PM-8PM
Field Training- Saturday, October 10th, 9AM-2PM @ The Tualatin Riverkeepers Office
