There are convenient ways to give through your workplace. TRK is a member of Earth Share of Oregon,a federation of America's and conservation organizations working to promote environmental awareness and charitable giving in the workplace. In addition, you may find that, if your employer does not participate in Earth Share, the company may offer an employee match to your donation.
You may want to take it one step farther and ask your employer to participate in Earth Share. Visit Earth Share's website at www.earthshare-oregon.org to learn how your employer can host its own workplace giving campaign.
Corporate Donation Match
A great way to double your contribution is to ask your employer if they have an employee contribution match program. Many companies have programs to support the interests of their employees. Generally a simple form is provided stating who is giving and in what amount. Just send that form to us with your contribution and we will do the rest. It's simple and effective.
You can mail your donation to:
11675 SW Hazelbrook Road
Tualatin, OR 97062
or Contact Margot at (503) 218-2580 or firstname.lastname@example.org
A gift membership is perfect for holiday giving, birthdays, anniversaries or for any milestone occasion. It is also easy and convenient. We will send a personnelized card and membership packet to gift receiptients. At the $50 donation level, New members receive Tualatin Riverkeepers' guidebook: Exploring the Tualatin River Basin. In Leiu of Gifts or Flowers
Any time you wish to not receive additional material gifts or donations in memory of a loved one. TRK will send a personalized card to each donor; recognize the individual or couple in our quarterly newsletter, Green Heron Herald; and provide a thank-you letter and tax receipt to the donor. You will receive acknowledgement of all gifts received. Contact Margot at (503) 218-2580 or firstname.lastname@example.org
You can make a difference for the long-term protection of the Tualatin River Basin. After taking care of your family through your will or living trust, consider leaving a lasting gift to the Tualatin River and its community of flora, fauna and future generations.
A gift made by will or living trust can be simple to arrange. A provision or amendment prepared by your attorney at the time you make or update your will or trust is all that is necessary. Gifts via wills and living trusts are popular because they are easy to arrange and may be changed at any time you choose. Consider these possible ways to give through your will or living trust:
Give only the remainder, or residue, of your estate - that is, what remains after all other bequests to friends and loved ones are satisfied.
Designate that a percentage of your estate be given through your will or living trust.
Leave a specific dollar amount. A gift of a particular amount may be designated for general use or for a special purpose. Contact Monica Smiley at (503) 218-2580 or email@example.com
If you have non-cash property, such as stocks and mutual funds, that has appreciated in value and has been held more than one year, you may realize greater tax savings from giving such property than from giving an equivalent amount of cash. A gift of appreciated property bypasses capital gains tax that could be due if you sold the asset. You are also entitled to a charitable deduction based on the property's current value, including the "paper profits" you have earned since you have owned it. Contact Monica Smiley at (503) 218-2580 or firstname.lastname@example.org
If you have stock or other property that has decreased in value, you could save more in taxes by selling them and giving the proceeds. You may be able to claim a capital loss on your tax return and you can also deduct the cash proceeds you give as a charitable gift. The result can be tax deductions that amount to more than the current value of the asset. Contact Monica Smiley at (503) 218-2580 or email@example.com
Tualatin Riverkeepers is in partnership with Volunteer of America's (VOA) Vehicle Donation Program. Save yourself the hassle and expense of selling your vehicle while supporting a cause that you believe in.
Donated vehicles can include cars, trucks, motorcycles, RV's and boats with trailers. Vehicles must be complete (tires, motor, drive line and transmission), but don’t have to be running. Your vehicle will be towed for free.
If you are interested in the TRK/VOA vehicle donation program, please visit www.charity-connections.org. Or, simply fill out this online form and select Tualatin Riverkeepers from the dropdown of beneficiaries to get the process started.
