Join us for this special event as we celebrate our 30th year as the organization dedicated to protecting and restoring the Tualatin River. We will also be celebrating the many accomplishments we've made in expanding our educational efforts, introducing new paddlers to the tranquility of the river, and continuing to be a strong voice for the river.
Recently elected Metro Counselor Juan Carlos González will be the Master of Ceremonies at the event. He is a lifelong Oregonian born in Forest Grove, raised in Cornelius and now living in Hillsboro. In 2018, Juan Carlos was elected to serve District 4 on the Metro Council, representing northern and western Washington County.
We will have a special video presentation from US Senator Jeff Merkley. The senator is a strong environmental advocate. According to the National Environmental Scorecard he has a 99% lifetime score and a 100% score in 2018 for voting the pro-environment choice.
Lastly, we will have Ree Armitage from Ron Wyden's office present at the event to voice the senator’s support of our mission. The senator has a career of supporting environmentally friendly legislation which is reflected in his record in the National Environmental Scorecard. In 2018 he voted the pro-environment choice on four bills that had to do with clean water.
Your ticket includes entrance to the event, a gourmet dinner, beer and wine, and a chance to bid on a variety of items from gift baskets to vacation stays at Cannon Beach. The Green Heron Award will be presented to longtime volunteer and supporter, Lynn Carver.
