Lynn CarverLynn Carver - President

Xerox Corporation

Lynn Carver has served Tualatin Riverkeepers well as an organizer for several of our major fund raising events.. Lynn’s skills in project management—and her love of wine and art—are essential to making Riverfront Music Festival a successful fundraiser for TRK. Lynn has been involved with various TRK projects over the last seven years including habitat restoration at Gotter Prairie and river clean-up, but coordinating the fall event is her favorite volunteer project.
Lynn is motivated to volunteer by the pleasure she gets
from her experiences with the river and is inspired by
others who work to protect it. “I enjoy the river and the many peaceful hours I have spent paddling on it. Living on the river, I have watched the quality of the water and the watershed in general improve tremendously over the last two decades. This would certainly not have occurred without the diligent work of TRK, the countless dedicated volunteer hours, and the financial assistance of the members. I am grateful for the vision of the original TRK leadership and their commitment to restore and protect the Tualatin River. I want to do my part to help the current team continue this important endeavor.”

Jeff DouglasJeff Douglas

Oregon Public Broadcasting - Retired

Jeff Douglas is joining the TRK Board of Directors after recently retiring from a successful career in broadcasting at OPB and KINK radio.  You may recognize Jeff Douglas from as the host of OPB’s Oregon Art Beat.  You may not know that he founded KINK radio and was a producer for both Oregon Experience and Oregon Field Guide.  Jeff has also used his orating expertise to host many of TRK’s Annual Gala events.
Jeff lives near Fanno Creek in Tigard and has been involved with the restoration of a wetland near his home.  He is also an avid canoeist, paddling everything from Tualatin flat-water to Class III whitewater.  He has taught canoeing and taken several long trips (some nearly 500 miles).
A few years ago, Jeff led the development of a partnership between OPB, the Oregon Invasive Species Council, Nature Conservancy, SOLV and several other organizations to launch an educational campaign about invasive species.  It was a large project with lots of complications that, in the end, turned out quite well thanks in large part to Jeff’s perseverance. The project won the DuPont-Columbia award, the highest award in television journalism.
Jeff is particularly interested in how the environment and economy can flourish together.  “My observation is that the public’s willingness to invest in the environment is greatly enhanced in a thriving economy.  I think it is the responsibility of environmental organizations to find win/win projects to support, not just be a “no” voice to every development proposal,” says Jeff.
